1980 Thunderbird Race

As I look back on my racing experiences, it's hard to believe how quickly time flew by in the late 1970s and early 1980s. My first event of 1980 was attended on January 26th, marking the beginning of a new season filled with excitement and adventure.

The winter of 1979-80 turned out to be one of the shortest closed seasons I've ever had, and it wasn't long before I started racing again. Unfortunately, my stock car was sold to the Abraham Brothers in the end of that year as I was preparing for a relocation to the Netherlands. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that the car would continue to 'thunder away' into the sunset, carrying all our belongings.

Prior to this, 1979 had been an eventful year filled with racing activities. I managed to get behind the wheel of my BriSCA F1 on several occasions at Brafield and even attended the Silver Jubilee meeting at Harringay. On top of that, I made three trips across the English Channel to watch racing in the Netherlands and Germany.
